Hosting Guidelines

Specific areas, which may not be dealt with in these guidelines, shall be at the discretion of the Executive Director, Technical Director and the Director of Games and Tournaments of the MRA in discussion with the Host Committee.
Key considerations and objectives to be kept in mind when planning to host the "Provincials" are:
- MRA has the mandate to declare Provincials in the "AA", "A", "B" (and where applicable "C" categories)
- The event must be planned for the benefit of the players.
- In order to host a successful event the Host should ensure sufficient volunteers and use long range planning.
- A, B & C Provincials are intended to make a profit of the Host Committee. The entire profit or loss shall be the Host Committee's responsibility.
- All facets of the Provincials shall be accordance with MRA By-Laws and Polices & Procedures.
- The relationship between the MRA and the Host Committee must be cooperative, with all partners conveying accurate and complete information.
Provincial Hosts
- Local Associations, Clubs/Towns are responsible for the entire cost of hosting provincials. Hosts will, however, receive all profits from the competition. The MRA is responsible for providing the Provincial Host with a hosting banner.
- Local Associations, Clubs/Towns are responsible to assign certified minor officials and shot clock operators (where required) for the provincial competition.
- Provincial Hosts in the U16 A, U19 A and 18+ categories must provide the MRA with a small, secure area on the final day of competition. This area will be used for sizing Provincial Champions for their Westerns walk-on uniforms.
